Scale and corrosion in a boiler are paid for in fuel — a 1 mm scale layer costs 5–8 % more fuel and shortens tube life. We treat the feed water, the boiler water and the condensate as one system, matched to your boiler pressure.
Three streams, one chemistry. External treatment removes hardness, silica, TDS and dissolved oxygen before water enters the boiler (softening, DM, RO, deaeration). Internal treatment conditions the boiler water itself — phosphate/polymer for residual hardness, oxygen scavenger, alkalinity control. Condensate and blowdown management recovers heat and water and keeps TDS within IS 10392 / boiler-maker limits for your pressure class.
| Boiler pressure | Hardness | Silica | Typical external treatment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Up to 10 kg/cm² | < 2 mg/L | < 15 mg/L (BW) | Softener + scavenger |
| 10–25 kg/cm² | < 0.5 mg/L | < 5 mg/L | Softener/RO + DM or RO + MB |
| 25–60 kg/cm² | ~0 | < 1 mg/L | Two-bed + MB DM or RO + EDI |
| Above 60 kg/cm² | ~0 | < 0.02 mg/L | RO + MB/EDI + condensate polishing |
Indicative; follow IS 10392 and your boiler manufacturer's limits.
Low-pressure boilers (up to ~10 kg/cm²) usually run on softened water with a good internal programme; above that, silica and TDS limits push you to DM or RO + mixed bed. Pressure, make-up quantity and raw-water silica decide.
Softener leakage between regenerations, no internal treatment, high blowdown TDS or a bypass — a one-day audit usually finds it.
Yes — scavengers, phosphate/polymer, alkalinity builders and condensate treatment, with dosing systems and monthly optimisation.
